The Weight of the Diamond: How many Carats, Points, or Grams?

All gemstones, including diamonds, have a weight which is expressed in carats. Five carats are equal to one gram (one ounce = 28.4 grams). Another term for referring to the diamond weight is the 'point'. A 100 point diamond weighs one carat. Size is one of the factors in determining the value of the diamond, but other factors such as, clarity and color will also effect the final price.
